Opening a New Destash Supply Shop

We are preparing to buy a home out of state and are in the process of de-cluttering.  I am amazed at the amount of "stuff" two people can accumlate over the years.

Cleaning out closets, runs to the charity shops, furniture pick ups from Habitat for Humanity, culling out old photos that no one will want when we're gone, and now I've reached the craft rooms. Somebody save me!

I'm going through all the beads and findings inventory and making wonderful discoveries of things I forgot I even had!

As soon as I see them, I have a vision of what I can make with them. Then, I force myself to put them back and move on (most of the time). Anyone that does this kind of work knows exactly what I'm talking about!

I opened a new shop, M Beads And Supplies, to get everything listed for sale.  It's slow going with the counting, photo editing, listing, descriptions, pricing, etc. We may not be able to move for five years.  Sigh.

If I ever finish with that chore, then I need to move on to the sewing and embroidery portion of the business.

At the same time, I am making blankets and bandanas to donate to our local animal shelter and keeping up with my other two shops, Pink Clouds And Angels, and Pink Clouds And Baby Blue.

I have already donated bags and bags of fabric, yarn, ribbon, and more, to the Telephone Pioneers.

I think it might be easier to just pack up the whole thing, have a truck come and get it, and then start over. Oh, wait, that might get to be very expensive.

Well, I am finished with my "break." Back to work.

Beaded Lanyard Id Necklaces for the Fashion Forward Woman

If you have to display your id badge at work, why not wear one that will really make you shine? I know I always felt better wearing a piece of fashionable jewelry instead. It brightens up the day and you're sure to hear a lot of compliments.

I've been making and selling beaded lanyard id necklaces for more than eleven years now. I have created and shipped thousands of lanyard around the world. I've shipped to France, Australia, Norway, United Kingdom, Singapore, Canada, Qatar, all 50 states, just to name a few.

Here is a little bit about my lanyard id necklaces:

All of my lanyards are my own design with 95% being one of a kind.

I use Swarovski crystals and pearls, gemstones, lampwork, polymer clay, resin, Czech glass, sterling and silver filled findings. I use high quality beading wire, the strong sterling silver twisted crimps are covered for a more polished look and wire guardians are used for durability.

My lanyards would look fabulous with a suit, but can be dressed down and look just as good with jeans, scrubs, etc.

I attach a matching guardian angel to the jump ring, unless otherwise stated. If someone prefers not to have the angel, I can always substitute matching beads.

To see a full inventory of lanyards available, https://www.etsy.com/shop/PinkCloudsAndAngels?section_id=15871763&ref=shopsection_leftnav_1

Lanyards make very thoughtful and useful gifts for teachers, flight attendants, medical personnel, retail, nurses, career women, any lady required to wear a name badge.

The standard length from center back to jump ring is 17 inches (total necklace length 34 inches).

The length can easily be adjusted prior to shipping, if needed, as I don't add the breakaway clasp until the item is purchased.

The high quality swivel lobster clasps that I use are perfect for holding your id, name badge, eyeglasses, locker key, etc.

The lanyards come with a very strong magnetic breakaway clasp. These clasps are required by some professions, but I like to add them to help prevent breakage if you should catch your lanyard on something. These are the strongest magnetic clasps I have found to date.

To open, bend the two pieces apart from each other, don't pull. The lanyard will hold up if you catch it on something, but repeated pulling can snap the wire. I let everyone know that because little ones love to pull them apart and watch them snap back together again.

I use high quality beading wire, the strong sterling silver twisted crimps are covered for a more polished look and wire guardians are used for durability.

Lanyards are shipped in a cotton filled jewelry box or an organza bag, all ready for gift giving.

Custom orders are always welcome.  I love creating special pieces just for you.

Stop by! I'd love to see you there!

Paracord Survival Bracelets, Lanyards, Key Fobs

I was asked to make a survival bracelet for a friend that is also in law enforcement. I hadn't done any knotting, or weaving, for many years. Remember all those macrame hanging flower pot holders? Ugh.

Well, that one bracelet has turned into many, many bracelets, styles, colors, add on features, and more.

I have one style finished with a POLICE tag, and one with a stainless steel engraved badge with Protect and Serve.  I have one for firefighters with the Maltese Cross.

I have just finished a new design for U.S. Marshals and Deputy Sheriff. No photos before my husband raced out the door with them to show his friend. The marshal bracelet is done in navy blue, gray, and white. The sheriff deputy is done in khaki tan and green. (other colors available)

I am in the process of making them for the Customs and Border Patrol.

My nephew wanted one with the Detroit Red Wings colors and my brother with navy blue because he was in the US Navy.

My brother-in-law spends a lot of time outdoors in Oregon, Alaska, and Idaho. He does a lot of snowmobiling, atv riding, etc.

I am amazed at all the things these bracelets can do.

Paracord was first used during World War II as the main suspension lines for paratroopers. When it was first given to the troops they quickly found many uses for it in surviving the trials of battle.

There are many uses for a paracord survival bracelet. You can mark a trail, build a lean to, fish for your dinner, use as a tourniquet to stop bleeding, stitch up a wound, use a thin thread to sew up tears and holes, you can floss with it, and even use it to replace broken shoelaces. In case of a survival situation, the bracelet is unwound and the cord is used for what ever purpose is needed.

I have the ferro fire starting rods that are incorporated into the weave. These are the biggest toy for my husband. He loves to strike it and start cotton balls on fire. In the kitchen, no less. We use it to start fires in the fire pit out back.

The next thing they wanted was something more elaborate. I made a few with the fire rod, two split shot weights, two fishing hooks, and 25 feet of 30# test Spyderwire fishing line. These are not visible from the outside of the bracelet. Pretty cool, right?

Next, they decided that I should add water purification tablets. Done!

My chiropractor has requested a belt. The belt will have all of the above, plus a saw! I am also thinking of adding a condom to use as a water carrier.

I have to tell you that I am having a blast with these.

My husband, and all his fellow law enforcement friends, are going crazy over these.  Every time he goes out, he comes home with orders. Of ALL the things I've created over the course of our 31 year marriage, this is the most excited I've ever seen him.

He's always been supportive of my business's, but he is ga ga over this one. He thinks I'm going to have to close my three shops and just fill his orders!

I haven't even had time to get them all listed, but you can see the paracord bracelets  and the lanyards and keychains at my shop on etsy.

Many of the cobra weave bracelets start at $6.95, and can have the following additional features:

Fishing hooks, line, and split shot, water purification tablets - $7.oo
Ferro Fire Starting Rod - $7.00
Stainless Steel Police Badge Tag - $7.00
Stainless Steel Firefighter Tag - $7.00
Stainess Steel Sheriff Deputy - (new design available in about 10 days) price - ?
Us Marshal Dog Tag - $10.00 (Very hard to find. Supply and demand, I guess)
Border Patrol Dog Tag - $7.00
Black Police Tag - $7.00
Side Release Buckle Clasp with Built in Whistle - $0

Which reminds me, the survival bracelet are for ladies and children, too. The built in whistle is really a security feature for anyone that has to walk to their car at night, or to a bus stop, etc.

It's a great deterrent for weirdos!

There are more than 600 colors available and an endless amount of color combinations. You can have one made in school colors, favorite team colors, and more!

There are other weaves available, but the cobra weave works best with the add ons.

Everything is handmade in the USA.

Can you tell I'm very excited about these?

More to follow!

Have a great day!

Don't give away your power!

Why do you give people power over you? Why do you allow your strong-will spirit to die because of what careless people say? That is not strength.

Do not forget where you have come from, how much you have already over come, how much people just don't know and never will . . .but who really cares. There is beauty in your strength and something to be said about someone who has survived most of their life with things that some people will never know, yet they still have a tiny bit of faith left that the life they desire is still achievable.

Mom's Thoughts Of You

I found this poem and absolutely loved it.  For anyone that has loved a child and may have lost them for one reason, or another.

Thoughts Of You

© Paula Stone
Memories of another time still come
To me and fill my mind, with thoughts
Of you when you were young.

I lie awake ‘Till the morning sun comes creeping
through my window shade, as I dwell upon
mistakes I've made.

What I would give to go back in time
and feel you’re little hand in mine.

To cherish each fast and fleeting day. To hold you
close and kiss away, each pain that life will have in
store and try to give you so much more.

You are part and will always be, imbedded in the soul of me. While I'm here, I want to say, that I've loved you
each and every day

And when my time on Earth is gone,

The privilege was mine to have been your Mom.
